Hydrogen-Deuterium Exchange Mass Spectrometry (HDX-MS) is a powerful tool used in biophysics to analyse proteins and elucidate structure, binding and conformational effects. Our team of experts are highly experienced in mass spectrometry and biophysics as well as all aspects of drug discovery, and can guide you on the optimal screening strategy based on your project. Our biophysics capabilities can be offered as standalone services or part of an integrated drug discovery project.
HDX-MS Technology and its Applications in Structural Biology
HDX-MS technology is part of Evotec’s integrative structural biology approach. Binding and conformational events can be confirmed and localized by monitoring the hydrogen-deuterium exchange of a protein's amide hydrogens in deuterated assay buffer. Typical applications are epitope/paratope mapping, protein-ligand interactions (e.g. small molecules), protein stability/folding studies, or determination of flexible regions to assist construct design.
