Closing the Gap – The Marriage of Experimental and AI/ML Data
Date and Time: Monday, January 27, 2025: 2:00 PM–3:00 PM PST
Location: San Diego Convention Center - Room: 25B
Presented by: Dirk Winkler, SVP Hit Identification, Drug Discovery Services
At Evotec, we have developed optimized data-driven approaches allowing us to combine computational power and the fast and efficient generation of large volume data to feed and train the algorithms so improving the output of the models. The acceleration of “traditional screening approaches” with AI/ML-supported hit enrichment and iterative screening enables us to generate higher quality results. The application of these iterative screening approaches is helping us to enable challenging screens and to overcome issues with complex cellular models such as slow and rate-limiting readouts as well as prohibitively expensive reagents. Our evolved algorithms, optimized with in-house generated data, pave the way for such strategies. In this presentation, we will share our experiences and advanced strategies for accelerated Drug Discovery based on AI/ML prediction, supported by highest quality experimental data generated on our industrialized screening platforms.
Targeting RNA to Drug 'Undruggable' Targets Using Evotec's High Throughput RT-qPCR Platform: Focus on RNA Splicing Modulators
Date and Time: Monday, January 27, 2025: 4:00 PM–4:30 PM PST
Location: San Diego Convention Center - Room: 30DE
Presented by: Mélanie Carquin, Research Scientist, HTP Biology & Screening
Targeting RNA is an alternative strategy for 'undruggable' targets. One approach involves the use of RNA splicing modulators which can be identified and profiled by quantitative reverse transcription PCR (RT-qPCR). In this presentation, we discuss our multiplexed RT-qPCR platform. This has been miniaturised to 384 well plate format and allows screening of up to 13,000 compounds per day with 4 genes in a single well with automated data analysis workflow.
Scalable Integration of Arrayed CRISPR Screening with High-Dimensional Readouts for Target Identification and Validation
Date and Time: Tuesday, January 28, 2025: 10:30–11:00 AM
Location: San Diego Convention Center - Room: 32AB
Presented by: Kamran Honarnejad, Group Leader, In Vitro Biology
Three arrayed CRISPR KO screen case studies are presented which illustrate the integration of CRISPR technology with Evotec's comprehensive read-out platforms for target identification and validation. The platform enables rapid transition from unbiased screens and target concepts to a validated target hypothesis that drives target-based drug discovery.
