Rise and Shine with Evotec

Andrew, Vice President, and Head of the Medicinal Chemistry Department II, is based at Evotec in Abingdon. He oversees all medicinal and synthetic chemistry activities in Department II. Since joining Evotec 10 yrs ago Andrew has been instrumental in expanding the company’s medicinal chemistry capabilities and providing both scientific and operational leadership for Evotec’s drug discovery projects.

Andrew has over 20 years of experience in medicinal chemistry and drug discovery, having worked at both Evotec and Novartis. He has led project teams that have successfully delivered several pre-clinical development candidates across various disease areas. Andrew is particularly passionate about integrating new technologies into drug discovery, having led the development of in-house machine learning and AI web-based applications and delivered global training for these platforms.

Andrew’s career is marked by a commitment to fostering new collaborations and advancing innovative drug discovery solutions. He holds an MSci in Chemistry from the University of Nottingham. His extensive experience and dedication to the field have made significant contributions to the advancement of many medicinal chemistry projects.
