Evotec offers UPLC Mass Spectrometry services as part of its extensive biophysics offering. The technique is used for QC purposes to assess quality of screening hits (using UPLC-MS), and for quantitative analysis and separation purposes (using UPLC-MS/MS).
UPLC-MS Analysis
Evotec's UPLC/MS-Quality control (“QC”) ensures both, high-quality compounds along the life cycle of a library (entry- & rolling QC) as well as the quality of screening hits (spot checks). Waters Acquity UPLC instruments are coupled to TQD and QDA systems with ESI(+/-) ionization, parallel UV and optionally ELS detection to analyze purity and identity of internal and external small molecules. Evotec's data evaluation follows a reproducible automated processing logic with manual review by exception. Results are reported in an electronic format that is customizable to client database input needs. A range of sample sizes can be handled up to 100k compounds per year.
Quantitative UPLC-MS/MS Analysis
Triple-quad systems are also used for quantitative MS/MS-analysis that need UPLC separation, e.g. to separate complex matrices from the target analyte.
