Walter Wenninger Nominated for Election as New Supervisory Board Member of Evotec

 

Hamburg, Germany - Evotec AG (Frankfurt Stock Exchange: EVT; NASDAQ: EVTC) announced today that the Supervisory Board proposes at the next Annual General Meeting to be held on June 4, 2009 the election of Dr Walter Wenninger as new member of the Company's Supervisory Board. He will replace John Walker who decided not to make himself available for nomination again due to other commitments. All other current Supervisory Board members will be proposed for re-election.

Dr Wenninger has profound experience in strategic management, research & development and sales & marketing from leading positions in the international pharmaceutical industry. His career includes more than 30 years at Bayer AG where he held top-executive management positions within the lifescience business in Europe and the United States. From 1994 to 2000 Dr Wenninger served as a member of the Management Board of Bayer AG responsible for the healthcare sector. Following his retirement at Bayer, he has been involved in corporate development of several life science organizations. He is a member of the Executive Committee of the German Cardiac Research Foundation, the Executive Committee of the Robert-Koch-Foundation, and was a longtime member of the Board of Trustees of the German Cancer Research Center. Dr Wenninger currently serves on the boards of various other European pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies including Noxxon Pharma AG, Paion AG, Recordati S.p.A. and Santaris Pharma A/S.
