Medium Throughput Screening

A medium throughput screening (MTS) system is provided where the nanoscale is not essential or when cellular assays are not compatible with miniaturization.

A central robotic-transfer unit used for moving disposable 384-well plates between storage areas and a range of different instruments including a Fluorometric Imaging Plate Reader (FLIPR™) forms the core of the system.

Additionally, a number of different multi-mode readers can be included making this system a versatile platform for assay formats such a calcium mobilisation measurements and membrane potential assays for GPCR and ion channel targets, which are routinely run at a throughput of up to 35,000 compounds per day.

More complex assays such as enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA) or High-Content Assays (HCS) may also be run.
