Dr Corey Goodman has been Member of the Supervisory Board of Evotec since August 2008 and its Vice Chairman since June 2009. He also is a Member of the Evotec Scientific Advisory Board. Dr Goodman is an Adjunct Professor at the University of California (U.C.) San Francisco.
From 2007 to 2009, he was President of Pfizer's Biotherapeutics and Bioinnovation Center and an Executive Officer of Pfizer, and served as a Member of the Pfizer Executive Leadership Team. Prior to joining Pfizer, Dr Goodman was a Professor at Stanford University and the U.C. Berkeley. While on the faculty at U.C. Berkeley, he served as the Evan Rauch Professor of Neuroscience, the Director of the Wills Neuroscience Institute, and an Investigator with the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. Dr Goodman is an elected Member of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and the American Philosophical Society. Amongst his scientific honors are the Alan T. Waterman Award from the U.S. National Science Board, the Gairdner Foundational International Award for Achievement in Medical Sciences, and the March-of-Dimes Prize in Developmental Biology.
During his career, Dr Goodman has advised numerous biotechnology companies, and co-founded two: Exelixis and Renovis. He served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Renovis from 2001 until 2007 when the company's merger with Evotec was announced.
Among his many public service roles, Dr Goodman is a member of the California Council on Science and Technology, a member of the Boards of the McKnight Endowment Fund for Neuroscience, BayBio, the Biotechnology Institute, the Bay Area Science and Innovation Consortium (BASIC), the New York Stem Cell Foundation, the QB3 (UCSF-UCB-UCSC) Industry Advisory Board, Stanford's BioX Interdisciplinary Biosciences Advisory Council, and the Scientific Advisory Board of the Spinal Muscular Atrophy Foundation.
In addition to his role on the Evotec Supervisory Board, Dr Goodman serves as Chair of the Board of Directors of Limerick BioPharma.
Dr Goodman attended Stanford University as a Searle Scholar and earned his B.S. in Biology with distinction and honors. He was an NSF Fellow at the U.C. Berkeley and earned his PhD in Neurobiology, and was then a Helen Hay Whitney Postdoctoral Fellow at U.C. San Diego.
