Prof Dr Doug Melton

Prof Dr. Doug Melton is Thomas Dudley Cabot Professor in the Natural Sciences at Harvard University in the Department of Stem Cell and Regenerative Biology. Furthermore he is a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Investigator since 1994. Dr. Melton has become a leading researcher and public advocate in the field of human embryonic stem cells and he is a co-director of Harvard’s Stem Cell Institute. Dr. Melton holds membership in the National Academy of the Sciences and is a founding member of the International Society for Stem Cell Research. In 2007 and 2009, he was listed among Time Magazine’s 100 most influential People in The World. Dr. Melton studied Biology, History and Philosophy of Science in Illinois and Cambridge, England. He did his Ph.D in Molecular Biology.
